Plateau Systems Provides e-Learning Solution for One Of World's Largest Biotechnology Companies

Genzyme Corp. Selects Plateau's Enterprise Learning Management System to Web-enable and Manage Learning for its Employees Around the World

FAIRFAX, VA May 3, 2001 - Plateau Systems, a leading provider of integrated e-Learning solutions for global enterprises, announced today that Genzyme Corporation is implementing Plateau's Enterprise Learning Management System to manage learning for its employees.

Plateau, which already provides enterprise-class learning solutions for healthcare and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers such as Guidant, Alza and Aventis, will initially be installing software to meet the required training needs of more than 1,500 Genzyme employees in Eastern Massachusetts.

In a second phase, Genzyme plans to implement Plateau's open-architecture Enterprise Learning Management System to support online learning activities, certification testing and training management for more than 3,000 employees around the world.

Genzyme Corp. is an international biotechnology company that has three divisions across the world specializing in therapeutics for genetic diseases and other chronic disorders, biosurgery, and cancer therapies. All of Genzyme's units will be integrated into Plateau's e-Learning management system.

  • Automatically update Standard Operating Procedures training
  • Eliminate manual data downloads for students
  • Generate training assignments by job title that are automatically revised as employees take on new job positions
  • Provide a comprehensive audit trail of its training history
  • Help comply with federal Food and Drug Administration training guidelines
