Plateau Systems Joins Macromedia Alliance
Partnership Allows Clients to Create and Rapidly Deploy Custom Content Using Macromedia and Plateau Technologies
ARLINGTON, VA March 6, 2002 Plateau Systems, a provider of software that manages learning and knowledge processes for organizations, announced today it has become a member of the Macromedia Alliance Partner program. The partnership enables Macromedia customers to create and immediately deploy rich-media Web content across the enterprise using Plateau's Learning Management System.
As part of the Macromedia Alliance Partner program, Plateau is offering customized e-learning extensions to Macromedia Dreamweaver™, the industry leading content authoring tool. Any content created in Dreamweaver that is compliant with AICC and SCORM standards will fully interoperate with the Plateau 4 Learning Management System (LMS) in the largest enterprise deployments.
Courseware developers who use Plateau's extensions to Dreamweaver will be able to create Web-browser-deployable, shareable content objects (SCOs) using authoring environments similar to the popular Macromedia Coursebuilder™ extensions. The creation of SCOs becomes more critical as learning organizations strive to ensure interoperability with SCORM, the emerging industry standard. Plateau and Macromedia will jointly market this end-to-end solution, and work together on strategic e-learning initiatives targeted at Global 2000 customers.
"Macromedia is committed to providing partners like Plateau with the support and resources they need to deliver high-quality, trackable e-learning applications," said Tom King, director of learning partnerships and standards, Macromedia. "The partner program ensures that customers can develop the most effective, compelling content, while helping our partners build and expand their businesses."
We are pleased to be a part of the Macromedia Alliance Partner Program, said Ed Cohen, Plateau's Chief Technology Officer. This alliance lets organizations use the world's most widely accepted Web development tools in concert with an e-learning infrastructure that provides context and lasting value to any piece of learning material.
The Macromedia E-Learning Alliance Partner Program helps build a network of leading developers that corporate, education, and government customers can use for either content development or consulting, based on their technology expertise. Partners will gain access to resources to help build and market their businesses. Macromedia will also provide e-learning partners with marketing support and involve them strategically with our ongoing e-learning solutions strategy.
