Plateau Systems Announces Support for Documentum 5

Integration of Documentum's leading enterprise content management platform with Plateau 4 LMS allows organizations to automate the delivery of mission-critical knowledge

ARLINGTON, VA Tuesday, September 10, 2002 Plateau Systems today announces support for Documentum 5, the next generation enterprise content management (ECM) platform from Documentum (Nasdaq: DCTM), the leading provider of ECM.

By integrating Documentum 5 with the Plateau 4 Learning Management System (LMS), organizations can link learning initiatives with enterprise content. Both Documentum 5 and Plateau 4 LMS are built on open, J2EE/EJB architecture, enabling rapid and seamless integration.

Over the past three years, large enterprises in highly regulated and audited industries, such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology and energy, have integrated Plateau LMS with Documentum's ECM platform to enhance training efficiencies and reduce operating costs. Documentum 5 enables companies to create, automate and manage all types of content, including learning objects, PDFs, HTML pages, XML files, standard operating procedures and collateral. Plateau 4 LMS integrates the delivery and management of a corporation's learning activities. The combined solution enables organizations with any training documents in the Documentum repository to use Plateau to automatically alert all affected workers if their training profile is revised.

Documentum 5 is the optimal solution for companies competing in highly regulated industries, and its value can be enhanced through integration with Plateau 4 LMS to link enterprise content with learning, said Jay DeWalt, Vice President of Partner Management for Documentum. Documentum and Plateau have vast experience in improving the operational efficiencies of regulated companies, and our new platform will only enhance the capabilities of this joint solution.

Plateau is dedicated to supporting Documentum 5 through seamless integration of our two enterprise applications, said Ed Cohen, Plateau's Chief Technology Officer. Both companies have taken a leadership position in the use of industry standard J2EE/EJB architecture, allowing organizations to rapidly integrate the applications and utilize them for their unique business needs.
