A Recognized Expert on e-Learning Standards and Enterprise Implementations, Edward Cohen Invited to Join Elite Industry Think Tank

ARLINGTON, Va., February 10, 2004 — Plateau Systems, the leading provider of enterprise software that manages learning and enhances knowledge readiness, today announced the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) International has asked Plateau's Chief Technology Officer, Edward Cohen, to join its e-Learning Brain Trust. With more than 25 years experience in computer-based training, e-Learning and Learning Management System development, Cohen will join this elite group of analysts and technology experts to evaluate industry trends and emerging technologies in the e-Learning industry.

"Brain Trust was established on the precept that e-Learning is an evolving industry that is continually enabling organizations across the world to enhance their training, knowledge management and readiness initiatives," said Pat Galagan, Managing Director of Content, ASTD. "Ed's experience with the Aviation Industry CBT Committee and other e-Learning standards bodies - and his deep understanding of technical architecture - brings additional insight and expertise to our hand-selected group of industry professionals."

Established in 2001 and led by ASTD's Content Group, Brain Trust includes members from leading analyst firms and supplier and vendor organizations. Members are chosen to represent various parts of the industry. This year's group includes executives and industry experts from Accenture, Cisco Systems and ThinkEquity Partners, among others.

"Ed's close involvement with industry associations such as ASTD Brain Trust and the AICC is indicative of Plateau's commitment to the evolution of learning technology," said Paul Sparta, Chairman and CEO of Plateau Systems. "What's more, our involvement in these organizations fuels Plateau's ability to prepare for and support evolving customer needs. As these organization's help pave the way for the future of learning management technologies, pioneers such as Ed will play a direct role in optimizing the e-Learning experience for end users."

Cohen currently chairs the Training Infrastructure Subcommittee for AICC, one of the two main e-Learning standards bodies. He is the only AICC subcommittee chair not drawn directly from the aviation industry. Cohen is also a frequent speaker at international learning and human capital management seminars, and an author of numerous articles in leading e-Learning and training publications. This week, Cohen is giving a primer on e-Learning at the ASTD Techknowledge 2004 Conference & Exposition in Anaheim, CA.
