Bonfils Blood Center Selects Plateau Systems to Manage Learning and Enhance Organizational Readiness
Colorado-Based Blood Center Will Use Plateau 4 LMS to Deliver and Record Web-based and Classroom Training, Comply With FDA Rules
ARLINGTON, VA • August 18, 2004 - Plateau Systems, the leading provider of enterprise software that manages learning and knowledge readiness, today announced that Bonfils Blood Center, an essential part of healthcare systems throughout Colorado and beyond, has selected Plateau 4 Learning Management System (LMS) to manage employee learning and help it comply with strict federal training regulations for organizations that handle blood.
Based in Colorado, Bonfils Blood Center collects more than 200,000 units of blood yearly at nine community donor centers and more than 2,300 mobile drives and serves over 115 healthcare facilities. Other services of the center include the Colorado Marrow Donor Program. Plateau 4 LMS will provide the platform for the essential Bonfils' learning environment by enabling the management, delivery and tracking of blended learning for employees. It will replace the existing learning management system in use at Bonfils Blood Center.
Like all organizations that handle blood, Bonfils Blood Center must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices for employee training mandated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. FDA inspectors audit the center's training system annually. Bev McGee, Director of training and development at Bonfils Blood Center, said that moving to Plateau 4 LMS will improve the management of learning for employees and enable managers to quickly produce reports on employee training events, ensuring compliance with regulations enforced by agencies.
"Plateau 4 LMS will improve our company's ability to strategically align learning with organizational readiness," said McGee. "Bonfils Blood Center requires a robust enterprise wide learning tracking and management system with the capability to leverage emerging learning technologies. Plateau 4 LMS is that learning management system. "
"Bonfils Blood Center, like all other blood centers, is crucial to saving lives, and therefore must be in complete control of its mission-critical training and training requirements for employees." said Paul Sparta, Plateau's CEO and Chairman. "We're very pleased that Bonfils Blood Center has chosen Plateau 4 LMS to help keep that system in top form. It is further validation of the work we have done to make Plateau 4 LMS a best-in-breed solution."
