Plateau Announces Learning Industry's First Integrated Analytics Solution
Independence from Third-Party Tools Significantly Reduces Total Cost of Ownership
Arlington, Va. • October 13, 2004 - Plateau Systems, the leading provider of enterprise software that manages learning and knowledge readiness, today announced the addition of Plateau Analytics to its OpenSuiteTM line of products. Unlike other offerings that require customers to license third-party tools, Plateau Analytics is a fully-embedded, high performance J2EE solution, providing customers with instant access to learning-related analyses via a simple, point-and-click user interface.
"The goal of learning management is to improve operational business performance," said Paul Sparta, Chairman and CEO of Plateau. "Only with a holistic, comprehensive view of operations can you make the right business decisions. Plateau Analytics provides that view within a company's learning environment."
Plateau Analytics will allow companies to more effectively align learning activities with corporate goals and better understand the impact of specific training initiatives on operational business performance. For example, organizations can easily ascertain the status of employee certification required by a regulatory change, the total cost of training by department, the percentage of employees who have competency gaps as defined by their job requirements, etc. As a result, with Plateau Analytics, corporate decision makers can instantly measure the success of their various training initiatives and ensure that they are achieving the highest possible return on training investments throughout their organization.
"The e-learning suites market is maturing, and in 2004, enterprises should expect to see more comprehensive suite offerings from more vendors," said James Lundy, Vice President Gartner, in the 2004 Magic Quadrant for e-learning suites report. "Some vendors will extend their suites by adding options such as analytics."
With the addition of its analytics solution, Plateau is the only learning management vendor to provide a full spectrum of reporting and analytics capabilities, including:
- Transactional reporting - used to manage the day-to-day activities of an organization and generate reports at a detailed level;
- Learning analytics - used to support decision-making within the learning environment;
- Business intelligence - used to relate learning-related information with other key corporate performance indicators throughout an organization.
As with the other elements of Plateau OpenSuite, each of these capabilities are provided and supported by Plateau via an open architecture that provides the greatest degree of flexibility and interoperability with other enterprise applications.
